Antique Rose O’Neill Kewpie Doll Metal Tray H.D Beach Co.
An early serving tray that was made for the Kewpie Doll Company,artist Rose O'Neill, the creator of the Kewpie doll. The tray is marked with the signature, O'NEILL, also reads, KEWPIE REG. USA PAT. OFF COPYRIGHT R O W. On the bottom of the tray in fine print, H.D BEACH CO. COSHOCTON, O. There are a total of 12 little Kewpies, Blueberry bushes, and a plate full of Blueberries.The thick, metal tray was made by the H.D Henry Daniel Beach Enamel Company of Coshocton County, Ohio.Some of these Kewpie trays were commissioned by Ice Cream Companies,this was one of Rosie O'Neill's art drawings of the little boy and girl Kewpie babies. The tray measures approx. 13 1/4" x 10 1/2". The tray is in good shape, there is some wear to the paint.
